Prefer to get to the nitty-gritty? It’s cool, I understand…
A little background…
My grandparents gave my parents a lot of side-eye for putting a computer in my room when I was a little girl in the mid-1980s, but it was a Commodore 64 with no modem, so there was limited trouble I could get into. At that time, I dreamed of being a journalist, so I spent many hours teaching myself rudimentary desktop publishing skills in The Newsroom.
Years later, in the late-90s, I used AOL to organize and distribute an e-zine via email. Eventually, I wanted to create a website for my e-zine, so I downloaded AOLPress (a primitive WYSIWYG editor) and took full advantage of the whopping 2 MB of space AOL gave you for free. Then I moved to Geocities (/SouthBeach/Boardwalk/5612, baby!). I outgrew using a WYSIWG editor and started to hand-code HTML. I started a manual “online journal” just a little before Blogger.com hit the mainstream. When blogging became a thing, I was all over it, eventually learning Greymatter and later WordPress.
In college … (blah blah blah)
*** need something here about attention to detail ***
All of this is a long, roundabout way of saying: content creation in a digital format has always been my passion, both as a hobby and professionally.
… and some random, fun facts about me:
I'm a wife & mom.
My husband is a stay-at-home dad by day and a folk-rock musician by night. We have two boys and a new baby girl.
I live in a 220-year-old farmhouse.
It was part of the underground railroad. Is it haunted? You better believe it.
I raise and show dairy goats.
Yes, show goats are a thing. I raise Nigerian Dwarfs and LaManchas. I also make some pretty wicked goat cheese.
